Small Replica DO by Forest Cty Foundries Cleveland

Hi Folks and I was just wondering about this little pot or ducth oven that I picked up the other day. What surprized most about the little piece is how well it was made. I guess I was also wondering about what they mean by replica. and what I mean is did Niagra  or somebody make a pot like this originally. This little guy measures approx. 4 inches across and 2 inches high and is it worth anything. Thanks SAM

Sam,
 I've seen that on several varieties of small cookware sold as knick knacks at tourest destinations. The ones I see the most are at ferry farms, Washingtons home. I really don;t knwo the lgic on putting it on the casting other than than to avoid a potential infringment  suit down the road.

It would make a great presentation piece for individual servings of baked beans. Or is the 2inc. mesurement including the legs? Then it may be too small.

I showed this piece to a older fellow today and he said he lived in a house when he was much younger  that had a a Niagara furnace  in it and he believed it was made of cast iron. So since this little guy says  Niagara  furnaces I was wondering if maybe they made something like a dutch oven or I guess it could have a promotional giveaway ah heck I am just guessing. Oh yeah Jim that is not including the legs.
