ERIE SPIDER

Well, this seller said they was selling the spider skillet because they didn't have enough room. I'd say with this money they could put a nice down payment on a room edition if need be.  ;D

No kidding!! He 's not doing bad on the Wapak #6 Indian either. Won't come close to the spider, but he still has 5 days to go on it.

Thats right John. I knew it was over 3 thousand but didn't know how much over. That was a nice skillet and I think it was worth the money.  ;)

Wow, your right Perry. Park of my post dissappeared.

Oh the ghostly remark was from the actual auction where the seller posted a question.

The seller posted the question of someone asking them if they would take 1500.00 for a buy it now. I'm glad they didn't do it. This just goes to show you that when you get somebody that wants to take it out of the auction they are trying to get it for less and keep everyone else from being in the auction. I sure know that we have went round and round and round and round on here with Steve Stephens about that very issue. I THINK his opinion was that it was ok to do it because ebay had no rules which forbid the practice.

hey Troy, good to hear from you.  I got done with college early in 05, then got married oct 29, 2005.  We have been doing very well, just working all the time which leaves no time at all for iron.  I went to an antique show in FL last month, first one I had been to in over three years.  Still selling a little on ebay as I get a chance to take some pics of some stuff.  That is my life man, work, eat, and sleep.  Anything new with you????

Well congrats to you on all accounts.

For those that don't know Blake he is a young man with a bright future that was probably closer to filling an entire griswold collection prior to High school graduation than most of us are now.

Very Knowledgable, and from down in DAWG country as I recall. Don't be a stranger.

Tommy: Re. complete collection....I think he was thinking all the skillets in a given series. IE. #2 thru #10 in the smooth bottom block skillets. Complete sets might have been clearer, (Ugh if I am correct in my understanding)

Actually I was talking complete griswold collection. I know there is probably no such thing but some are closer than others. All you have to do is go back through some of the old KNC newsletters and look at the how do you display your CI sections and you'll see his collection is/was quite mature.

I meant what I said, while still in high school this young man put together a griswold collection that  equals all but a very few I've seen. My point was that he can and does talk griswold better than most and to get there at that age is amazing. I still chuckle when I think of the old farts that look at a teenager and had no regard for what he had to say. If they only knew he was sitting on more griswold than they would ever have. He was to modest and respectful to set the record straight.

 Blake,
If I embarressed you in any way or said more than you would care to be said I apologize but I believe yours is a good news story for the community and that the... we'll say "age discrimination" things you endured were perposterious. Youth is the future of the hobby.

Bottom line for the folks on here that don't know you I want them to understand that when you say it is one of the best you ever seen, what credability it comes with.

Congratulations on your graduation and marriage.

I hear the it's gonna ba a monster season on those strippers in the bay this year.

If Blake has a bay full of Strippers, he can sure afford a complete Griswold collection.  Wonder what his new wife thinks about all the strange men and half naked women hanging around though?   :D :D :D

I would love to meet Blake at an event and swap stories.  Most people don't take collectors or dealers seriously at that age, even though many if not most of the world class collectors and dealers start out like that and know more at 20 than the average blowhard who starts collecting at 50 will know in a lifetime.
