Dawn Power Dissolver
« on: November 06, 2014, 12:16:26 PM »
Apparently they've stopped making it. Just can't find it anywhere and some of the comments on the Dawn site confirm that it is discontinued. However, I have found a copy-cat "recipe" to make your own version.

I'm not surprised.  I commented in here a while ago that I thought it was discontinued since it was getting harder to find.  It was still on P&G's web site at the time.

Wonder why P&G stopped selling it.  Probably low sales and not worth supporting by a company with $83B in annual revenue.  Colgate would sell off smaller brands when I was there.  Things that were still, but not worth the support for a multi-billion dollars company.

TSP is great stuff.  Companies had to take phosphates out of laundry detergent years ago.

I make my own laundry detergent: Borax (sodium borate), washing soda (sodium carbonate), and Fels Naptha soap.  I separate add a little TSP to the washing machine for an added boost.  Great stuff.  :)

3 years ago it was discontinued also.  Could not find it ANYWHERE.
Then it magically reappeared.

I tend to think that the current trend is that companies only do a 'production' run on certain products, maybe, once a year.... fill up the warehouses, and when it's gone.... it's gone for quite a while.

There is also a commercial/industrial grade available of the DPD.....

Probably to thicken it a bit so it clings to surfaces.
