HURRICANE!!! Please, Prayers Needed!

Words cannot describe it! Watch the TV and get the same feeling I had when 911 happened. Lord have mercy.

Duke I've never seen anything like it before.   It's awful.

For those of us up North, I just did a quick calculation.  If this was winter and a blizzard, it would amount to about fifty (50) feet of snow.

Just impossible to comprehend.

This may be out of bounds, but here is a link to the Red Cross donation site.

Amazing videos from Houston.  Check out the video here starting at 1:50.

https://www.click2houston.com/video/think-youve-seen-it-all-in-houston-neighborhood-of-underwater-homes-will-devastate-you

Neighborhood with the homes' first floor completely submerged.

The only good thing from Harvey was that high level shear prevented 92L from developing.  Up to 9" rain was forecast and the Flash Flood Watch graphic on WAVY NEWS 10 (Norfolk) pretty much pointed right at our house on the Outer Banks.  :D

Blew by with minimal rain thanks to Harvey.

Saw a Weather Channel person interviewing a small business owner.  The owner first thought someone stole the sandbags he put up to try to protect his shop.  No, they were so far under water that he couldn't see them.

A couple of people on a car web site I'm on are in Houston.  Amazing stories.

Neighbor's son is there, too. Said his son's new townhouse has some damage.  There's no water in his development last he e-mailed, but the water level is rising around his area.

Texas remains in my thoughts and prayers.
Those that are Friends on my FB page will see that.

I am a warrior when it comes to Hurricanes/Flooding East Coast inland style.

I did my first Water Rescues at age 16 in 1972 when Hurricane Agnes decimated most of Pennsylvania.

I took my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins out of a Second story window, and shoveled more Mud than I care to remember, and spent months as a Red Cross Volunteer (the only one with a car... hauling cribs, and sundry items into our local Red Cross Shelter...)... I had only had my Driver's License for less than a year, and it lasted thru my 17th Birthday.

I knew what I was, and still am, seeing in Texas... and have not been sleeping well since Friday past.

If I had not sold all of the boats in the past few years... I would be there now.

The East Coast storm is a drop in the bucket compared to the Enormity of Texas and now, parts of Louisiana...

I have friends in the Houston area.........

Have a 8 year old grand daughter 25 miles south of Beaumont with her mother and step daddy. At 7am yesterday just their carpet was soggy. They are 10 miles east of Port Arthur Texas. We cannot even get to that side of state.
Crime still goes on as folks have had their large rescue boats hi jacked in the tragedy! >:(
As a young kid of 8, I was in Carla that came in to Galveston in "62. We were in Houston and I still have vivid memories of that sucker!

You're welcome.  the folks on the Outer Banks forum told me about it since they're always watching the weather this time of year.  I'm supposed to head down there on the 10th, and am watching Irma.
