ID help...
« on: September 21, 2019, 01:01:04 PM »
Found these two #7s today.
One has a 7 on the bottom side at the top and a heat ring.
The other has a embossed 7 on the top of the handle and a gatemark. I realize gatemarks can be hard to ID, so I'm not holding my breath on that one.
But anny info on either of these would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for any and all replies...

Hi Robert, not sure on your bottom skillet but the top one is Lodge.  Usually if you see those notches in the heat ring at 9, 12 and 3 o'clock or a single notch at 12 o'clock holding the handle at 6 o'clock it will be Lodge. Very solid users, I've got a #7 3-notch on the stove top all the time.

Robert the second skillet with Gatemark on the bottom looks like it may be a re-cast (reproduction) of an ERIE skillet...

Does it have a ghosting of ERIE at 12 o'clock?

It may become clearer once it is cleaned..... :)

I didn't see anything, but once it's clean, I'll let you know.
Thanks for the reply [ch128077]

Cheryl...
There was no ghosting on the underside, but it DID look crudely cast on that side. It was all for naught, tho, as I discovered a crack after I cleaned it all up...
Bummer.
