Square skillet ID help please
« on: June 03, 2016, 04:08:28 PM »
It is a square skillet.  Got it at a garage sale.  I am pretty sure i over paid at $10 but i wanted a square skillet for bacon and i was still excited about getting my vintage lodge and BSR for $5 each.  It is stamped made in usa right about  in the middle and a small no 2 on the handle.   The casting is a little rough and not really even.   Any ideas?  I have already stripped and seasoned it and actually used it this morning.   It worked alright and I am hoping it gets better with more use.

If it is "Made In USA" all on the same line, it's BSR.
If it is:
"Made
In
USA"
one under the other, that is Lodge.
If the pan sits flat, ten dollars would have jumped right out of my pocket if I would have seen it.

It is made in usa on one line.   I fried bacon in it this morning and we made brownies in it tonight.  It sits as flat as can be.  :)  I have gotten my $10 worth already.  I wasn't too worried about the money as long as it was useable.   I don't plan on selling it.   At least not until I find a nicer replacement.  Thanks again for the info. I'm really liking this place.

I'm growing to love it.   Fried bacon up again in it this morning.    Then transferred some of the grease into my BSR no 5 and fried 3 eggs in it 100% non stick .  First time using that one too.   :)

At first site, wife Cindy used the term "sexy!" to describe the square skillet when I brought the first one home! 8-) ::) ;D

That's too funny Duke!
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
