Wagner Ware Corn Stick Pan - Real or Fake
« on: March 06, 2016, 05:59:13 PM »
I was Wondering if someone could tell me if this thing is real or a repro. The things that stand out to me are the rough casting on the holes of the handles and the corn kernels themselves. Also, the markings on the bottom of the pan look odd to me. What's with that "L" or "7" above the Wagner Ware logo?

I have two more of these corn stick pans and the castings are much cleaner/smoother.

Thanks for any insight.

This is a much Newer one, which is why the casting quality is poorer.

Produced sometime after 1960 or so....

Ah ok. I thought that might be the case if it turned out to be legitimate. I noticed that the kernels in the current Lodge corn stick pans look identical to this one.

Hello Chris. This piece was made in the beginning of the end for Wagner.

I can see why. My other two corn stick pans almost look machined instead of cast in comparison.

Thank you both for the replies.

Have used this version and liked the result. Like all others, the more you use it the better it bakes [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'll vouch for its usability too. I used it a couple times before I got my "prettier" ones and it seemed to work just fine. Next time I'll do a batch with this one and an older one and see if I notice a difference.
