Hi all. Newbie here. Been trying to find some pictures or information on what a 1004 lid should look like. It's the one that fits the 1003 small trademark griswold deep fat fryer. If anyone has any pictures I would love to see them. From what I gather it's pretty rare so I'm having trouble finding info. Thanks mike

So this thread didn't go as planned. I was hoping to get people to post pictures of there covers so I could compare to mine. Am I the only one that ownes one. The pictures above I'm pretty sure I've seen those pics before. I tried to buy it on ebay a few years ago but the owner was asking a thousand dollars for it. Which may be right but I didn't have a 1000.00 dollars. Tried to get him to seperate the lid but he told me a 1000.00 dollars and I can have pot and basket for free lol. Have always been curious why griswold used a flathead screw and a wood handle. Probably to do with heat but I havnt seen many griswold covers without a cast handle. I was also curious why it just has numbers rather than the griswold trademark. I do beleive it to be produced towards the end of griswold so maybe they where just trying to cut costs. I should probably buy a griswold book. Any thoughts

I have one, it is exactly like the one above.  I can post pics but it will be basically duplicating what you have already seen.

To the best of my knowledge there is only one variation of the DFF lid. Now watch six different ones show up. :)

I have two sets of these deep fat fryers. One cover has the knob that is the same as Neal's above and the other cover has the knob which is the same as the knob on the cover shown on page 71 of the Blue Book.

I knew they had that little screw on knob. But, I didn't know there were variations.
Hold still rabbit, so I can cook you.
