The store is a bit high.  At least $125 or so in my mind.

That auction you found is really interesting.  That is the last of the 962 pan variations made in Erie.  I was actually surprised to see the Erie on the pan, as the box says Sidney, OH.  That box was used after Griswold was closed in 1957 and moved to the Wagner foundry in Sidney.

They took the Erie PA off the Sidney produced pans.

You can see the year of manufacture of the box as 1958.  So, assuming the pan came in that box, it is most was old stock from the Erie foundry put in an early run of the Sidney boxes.

Just an interesting combination.  The Erie pans tend to sell for a little more than the Sidney ones.

Hmmm....

21 months ago I bought this pan, sans box, for $20.50 TOTAL including shipping on Ebay....

So...

The box is worth $100 +.... ?????

The pictures I posted are from the eBay auction.  With shipping it sold for $75.  I would have been tempted since it was an interesting combination.  But not that tempted.  I think $50 to $60 would have been about it for me for the eBay one.  And I likely wouldn't have bought it anyway since the pictures work just fine for my purposes.

Just trying to stabilize the current madness!

 ;)

$50 with the box would have been the max for me...

<and how do we know the box came with the pan???.... lol>

Queen of Rhetorical question..

I think it is very likely the proper box.  The pan looks little used, likely spending most of its life in the box.

Also, Wagner didn't get the Griswold products until the Fall or Winter of 1957, so it is very likely that 1958 is the earliest date on the Sidney boxes.

Back to Dave's question for a moment.  If the box with the pan you has Erie PA on it, it would be worth a bit more, but still in the same range that we've mentioned already.

I think I might have seen the pan there this past summer. If it's still there in a month or so I might make an offer. It's actually kind of tucked away in a corner and I doubt many people see it. I might offer $40 or $50 for it about then.

The pan at the store does not say ERIE on it. I wonder if I can talk them down to $35 with that information ... btw, I'm still hungry.

Have them look at what they are selling for on eBay (completed Auctions).  Not many moving.  $35 to $40 would be more than fair for a Wagner made Griswold.  In my opinion, of course. ;D

The Chicken Bites with Creamy Dressing are really good.  .

May go to a neighbor's Super Bowl Party.  Considering making the chicken bites to bring over.  Deciding between that or buckeyes.
