That speckled pattern is very nice, I've seen that on some Wagner pieces, but I'm not sure on ashtrays.

I have a wagner ashtray in the red and black speckled enamel... but the spouts and handle on this one are throwing me off. The spouts appear to be like the griswold ashtray positions but that handle being pointed... I do not know. Plus the 3rd spout is directly across from the handle... I've only seen that on the griswold square skillets. Maybe a griswold made in Sidney?

I wish I had paid more attention to ashtrays now. That pointy handle has me puzzled as well.

Maybe, it is that no one is sure?

Not a Griswold, not a Wagner, not BSR....design not consistent with any of the known brands that I am familiar with that produced ashtrays.

I thank you for your response, but I do believe personally, that it is a wagner. Hopefully someone will know for sure. It would be interesting to find out.

Kyle, Other than the color, what is there that leads you to conclude it's a Wagner piece? Has anyone EVER seen that handle on a Wagner piece not to mention the 3 position holder?

Just size. Weight. Colors of the enamel. The way the spouts are designed, matches my marked Wagner ashtray. The handle throws me off more than anything else. Here is a comparison pic.

AGAIN, just my opinion as everyone of you should know more about iron than I do! I am no expert. But Im wondering if anyone has EVER seen what I have with the strange handle and 3 spouts, before this one?

Here on the 1400 series Wagner is a similar pointed handle?

I see nothing a about that piece that looks Wagner.  Sorry, but it may have been a foundry copying their enamel line or something along those lines.

Most people new to the hobby want to ID every item that they find, and choose from among the half dozen or so major makers. If it wasn't Lodge, BSR, Griswold, then it MUST be Wagner , right?

There were dozens and dozens of other makers out there. Some are less well known, and most of the unmarked items will probably never be identified.
Most of the items in my collection fall into the unknown category. Many items should just be appreciated for what they are, not who made them. Some of my Favorite skillets are unknowns.

look at the bottom with the light reflecting off of it and try to see if there is any kind of mark, logo, or name under the enamel. i have a couple that are really hard to see.

Hi Chris,,, Welcome!
Without markings, we may never know who produced them.

Porcelain coated pieces make 'reading' the markings a difficult task... I reach for my magnifying glass! :)

Do you have a picture of the bottom? (including the entire handle)
