My poor old tired eyes, it looks like a magnifying glass to me. Sorry Marge

I certainly wouldn't mind if you flew your "good" purchases above the radar more often ... I love seeing great pieces, and that was an awesome find. :)

thanks, Karen.  I don't want to appear to be a "bragger".  so I am usually pretty quiet about my good stuff.  this little find was just too wonderful to keep to myself.   this is the group that can appreciate great items.  and people in this group understand that this a truly rare piece.  thanks!

I've never seen one before!

[size=12]Okay,  I have to agree with Rick... looks like a magnifying glass to these eyes also.

So what is it we're looking at?

it is a toy size, even though it has the number 4 on it.  this was before I cleaned it.

Rare is a very much overused word when it comes to cast iron pieces. If you don't believe it then check out cast iron on fleabay. But now when it comes to the piece here in this thread, the number one griswold skillet that Marge found, then yes, it is rare.  ;)
