Alfred Andresen Heart Shaped Waffle Iron
« on: March 02, 2014, 08:01:48 PM »
Picked up a nice heart shaped waffle iron today.

It has a Griswold 8 low base 975

One waffle piece is marked on the outside circle
ALFRED ANDRESEN & CO
MINNEAPOLIS

On the inside circle it is marked
HEART SHAPED DESIGN
PATENTED

Same thing on the other side but it is marked
MINEAPOLIS (missing an N)

I will post pictures tomorrow.

Hopefully this is a mispelling on a real piece, looks good otherwise, clean casting, good lettering.

It also doesn't have any numbers in the center of the circle.  Don't know if they made them without the 999 and 981 markings.

It didn't have the wooden handles, so I picked up the appropriate size wooden dowels.  I will be painting them black sometime in the near future.  Have to also get a couple of little black wood screws to hold them in place.

It is a real piece. I'm sure one of the experts will chime in, but there were 4 or 5 variations of the Andreson WI, one of which had Minneapolis spelled wrong

It's the real deal.  Those make the best waffles.   ;)

Just made my first batch of waffles.

Used the recipe from the 1905 Alfred Andresen catalog.

First one was raw in the middle, second was burned, third was was on the money, and the rest were great.
