Griswold 203 Single Burner stove.
« on: February 10, 2014, 11:43:28 AM »
I saw a single burner stove that is definitely a Griswold, and the metal Griswold Tag on the front say that it is a 203.

Everything I have tried to research on the 203 only shows a 3 burner model.

Anybody ever run across a singel burner 203?

Could this maybe be a case of the wrong tag put on at the factory?

Sounds like someone put a wrong tag on it.  Bet someone put it on after the factory.   The 200 series was made forever,  and the ones with the tags were the last.   Pretty common stoves.

Nope never heard such a critter. Sounds like wrong tag as you guys said. Pattern number for 201 hotplate is 185, the 202 is p/n 186, the 203 is p/n 187. These numbers are cast into the underside of the grate/top of hotplate.

Like Ed says, look for the PN's cast into all of the parts. The nameplates are nice but by themselves they don't make the stove Griswold. Particullarly important to look for the pn's when the tag doesn't match the product.
