Hello fellows. WAGS had a "SIDNEY" book/catalog reprinted here while back, it is very interesting. Sidney Hollow Ware Co was bought out by Wagner. And it was WAGNER who made SIDNEY, not Sidney Hollow Ware Co. I believe I have that right. If not, at least I got a fight started and we can flesh it out.  ;D But thats the way I remember it. We had these catalogs reprinted for WAGS members only, ANOTHER benefit to belonging to WAGS.  ;)

Do either of you two know the Catalog that I am talkng about? :)

Let me restate some of the above, leaving all of the above up there?

The Catalog that I am referring to is "SIDNEY WARE". And from the dates this catalog was printed or put out around 1907. The catalog is for Sidney Hollow Ware. SO, even though WAGNER bought Sidney Hollow Ware in 1898, Wagner continued that line, the Sidney Hollow Ware line. And the "SIDNEY" pieces, I believe, is how Wagner marked them. Since the Sidney Hollow Ware Co was no longer in business after 1898, it was not making cast iron. Its only logical then that Wagner eventually merged that part of Sidney Hollow Ware in with its regular operations. BUT, for a period of time, as reflected by this catalog, WAGNER continued making Sidney Hollow Ware, but just did not mark it as such. NOW, is this all clear as mud?  ;D

Didn't I read on a posting here (or somewhere) that after owning Sidney Hollow Ware fo a short time, Wagner sold the business back to Smith and Sidney Hollow Ware again existed as an entity separate from Wagner?

Page 7 of the Red Book.  Sidney Hollow Ware is at the back of the Blue book, but it doesn't say anything about what happened after Wagner sold it back to Smith.

The catalog Perry's referring to (#28) was reproduced by WAGS several years ago and is available to members from Jack Glenn, I believe.

Well, according to the timeframe then, the catalog that I am talking about, was put out when Sidney Hollow Ware was again its own entity. So this means that the "SIDNEY" pieces are Sidney Hollow Ware, what does someone else think?
