mineral oil on top of seasoning?

Hi folks!

If I coat a seasoned, rarely-used pan with mineral oil, will I prevent the seasoning from becoming rancid?
Does the vegetable/animal fat coating for seasoning become rancid because of  exposure to air?  Or will it get icky anyway?

As far as I know, you're not drunk again.  Not enough evidence from my vantage point.  ;)

But, sorry, I did post the same question in two different places.  :-[   I really wanted an answer and wasn't sure where best to post.  :-/
