I haven't found any info on this name (D.F.C. Co). Is this a piece of cookware or some other type of mold?  a few pics to follow.  Mike

Will- I was on a 'road trip' to visit some relatives so had to check out the iron in a new area.  This thing caught my eye- the owner had a couple of other pieces I wanted so worked out a multi-item deal.  I guess I'm a sucker for odd stuff, if they get the $$$ right.  It may be junk but I got a few others that fit in that catagory.   ;D Mike

I do know what it is.  I have a version from the same company with 6 pockets and a handle.
Actually posted pictures of it late last summer as a quiz.  I'll tell you what it is in a couple hours if nobody guesses.  I wouldn't bake any pointy muffins in it.  Might be an early meat tenderizer or an original hand mold for Hersey's kisses.

I found one just like mine in a museum in Rapid City, SD last summer.  It was likely used around the Black Hills and even related to the reason Custer was sent into the area well before he had his run in with the Sioux.

Tom

I guess I'm not mean enough to make you wait.  Here's the thread.

Tom, I've owned this thing for 3 days now and still don't have a clue, even with your hints. I didn't think it was for cooking. I hope I can stay up long enough to find out what the heck it is. :)Mike

Thanks Tom-  I see you have the 6 cup model 1178 and I got the 12 cup 1177.  Looks like I can double your output.   ;D  Thanks, Mike
