Unknown hinged skillet top
« on: June 25, 2006, 08:24:11 PM »
Wife found this for 50 cents, was very badly coated with crud.  Cleaned up rather well I think.
Anyone have an idea of the maker?  No other markings except a small capital A at the base of the handle.

The handle flares out  on each side.  Will send a pix of the handle,  though it is on the 'dark side' ::)

As usual, looking for the other half!

Cheers, Ellis

Ellis,  that is definately Wagner.   Finding a bottom shouldn't be to hard.   They show up on Ebay every once and awhile.

There are two different sets Wagner made; one with a skillet griddle as the top to a hinged skillet and the other was a deep skillet with a skillet for a top which is what you probably have.  The bottoms will be marked with the WW logo and one says, I think, 5-star skillet set while the other doesn't.  Might be in one of the books.

Steve, this top does have the hinge protrusion.

Thanks, gives me an idea of what bottom to look for.

Both the regular and the shallow tops have the hinge protrusion and the bottoms have the opposite handle with slot for hinge.

Here is the handle, if anyone is interested.
Since the 'smart guys' have identified my mystery skillet as pretty common before I can finish the post, the air has been let out of my balloon. :'(  Just have to keep trying :(

Ellis, the aluminum handle is very pretty with its nice crinkles but something long and black got in the way in the photo.  Can you include the whole handle including where it attaches to the skillet.  That way it shows a lot more detail but I already know what you have.  Others may be interested.
