Howdy! New/OLD Iron! Tell me About It!

Howdy!
Made a haul yesterday in Waco, TX. Picked up another Griswold No. 8 Model 704 A, Small LOGO, and a Wagner Ware No. 6 model 1056Q. Both had been cleaned and reasoned, in great shape. I also picked up another, older piece, and need help. It looks like a cast iron bowl made with a bail attachment, and what looks like a heat ring on the bottom. There is a gate mark on the bottom, as well. 11 inch diameter and 4 1/2 inches deep. It appears to have been used over a fire, I've not cleaned it up yet!
Thanks
Phillip

I forgot to mention the "4 E" on the bottom.

Howdy!
When I posted this message, I had not read the earlier post "Favorite Piqua # 3 ???" !
I see someone else has the same type of "bowl"! Mine does not have the Favotite name on it, but the picture in the linked webpage look the same as mine.
Thanks
Phillip

Phillip,
Scotch Bowls like you have were a common item made by almost every maker for many years and were meant for stovetop cooking.  Almost all of the early, unmarked iron cookware refuses to give up the maker's name as there is no way to identify those pieces with a maker through the various details on the pan (usually).
Your bowl probably dates to around the turn of the century and is not uncommon.
