Ahrens & Arnold Information?
« on: May 29, 2006, 05:11:58 PM »
Hi everyone!  I am looking for an online source of value information for Ahrens and Arnold pans, specifically a #9.  I found a little background in the Griswold & Wagner book (Ed. 4) but that only covered a #3.  Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Roben

Hi Will,

I attempted to post a picture for you  ;)  but I haven't figured out how to yet!  This pan has only started the cleaning process, so he looks a little rough around the edges but the logo (including the Griswold ghost) is there.  I'll keep trying, but I think I need some help with this one too!  I've attached it just in case that helps.

Thanks,
Roben

Ruben, where did you get the name Ahrens & Arnold?  These pans are quite rare and I don't think I've seen a No.9.  Pretty sure the pans were made using a Griswold skillet for a pattern.  Other than that I have no information.  I don't remember who told me that A&A was Ahrens & Arnold or where they got that name so I can't confirm that it is accurate but have no reason to believe that it isn't.

I think he got the name from the blue book under Wapak, page 301. Nice skillet.

Thats a nice one. The one I have doesn't show the A A very well but it's there with the Gris ghost. All the other markings are the same. I had it in Tenn. at the convention. Roben is there a #9 on the top of the handle?

Roben,
You registered under another name using a different email address, so I had to delete one of the Profiles, only one Profile per person is allowed.  Don't know why you registered a second time.

Thanks for your comments, everyone!  I did get the name from the Blue book.  Ed, there is a number 9 on the handle in the same style as the number 9 on the back.  I can't wait to see how it seasons up.     I just haven't found it in any value resources so far.  My husband and I have been collecting primarily Griswolds, with a couple of really old pans with heat rings and gate marks we haven't been able to identify yet, but this #9 has really had us on our hunting toes!

Thanks again,
Roben

Well I had $20 on mine at are convention with no takers. Like I said mine isn't as clearly marked as yours, that will make a big difference. A value is tuff on these, like Steve said you just don't see them. Anyone recall any size AA on ebay?

I used to have a No.3.  Think I have seen one or more on ebay but very infrequently.  I'd say not much value.
