Wagner Waffle Iron
« on: April 26, 2006, 09:04:19 PM »
I ran  across a Wagner #8 waffle iron Pat. Feb. 1910 with wood handles.  The handles have a metal piece between the wood and the 'irons'.  Are they screwed, crimped, or how are they held together?  They were very tight and I could not tell.  If I bought I would like to remove the handles to clean and reseason.  Has anyone removed these handles before?  The only one I have like it has the wire handles. Thanks, Mike

The wood handles on those unscrew.  They can be on tight after so many years, but that is how they are removed.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
