Enameled Griswold Corn Bread Pans
« on: January 26, 2015, 12:41:18 PM »
I know where to get a couple of enameled Griswold corn bread pans but I couldn't get a sense of what they were worth on ebay.  They are in excellent condition from what I could see(as the store was closing). they were asking $36 each. What do ya think? The front side is as clean as the back.

Well now, if they are in excellent condition, meaning no chips or crazing of the porcelalin, I think I would need to jump on them real quick..

Is $36 a fair price then or should I try to haggle with them? Yes they really looked in excellent condition in the short time I had to look.

Well I always 'haggle" so you can certainly try.

I paid more for mine.
Condition is everything on these... so examine carefully.

Thanks Cheryl ... I was thinking condition is everything as well. Then I will have to think whether I want both of them or just one ..... hhmmmmm.

I know I don't want the #14 Griswold large block skillet however .... someone did an awesome job of repairing the crack but you can still see the weld. They are asking $225 ... too much I would think.

Hello Dave. If they have two of them in the condition like you are talking about, if I was you I'd buy them both. In fact I'd take a one ton dually pickup truck full at that price. I think you could easily double your money on them at that price. I'm like Cheryl, I sure gave a lot more than that for mine. I believe I gave right at one hundred dollars each for mine. I have the red and cream and the buttercup, there is a black one too. They must be pretty unusual cause I don't ever remember seeing one of them for sale.

As far as the cripple number 14 I would not give anything for it. There are two many good ones that you can put that towards. For not much more than 225.00 you can get a good number 14 so I would run away from that.

Well ... I ended up buying one of them. There was a small chip on the edge of a corner ... so I'm sure it's not worth the $100 you paid but I figure it is usable and good for my starting collection for the $30 I talked him down to.

I also talked him down on the Erie No. 22 bread stick pan from $30 to $15 ... oh wait, my wife talked him down with the promise of cooking him Jalapeno Poppers with the pan.

 ;D :D ;D :D ;D
