Concentric or Eccentric kettle can't tell from the pic worth more than what you paid for it for sure!

I looked it up.....

It is an "eccentric pot,  new England style"

Now if it had legs,  it would be an regular bulged kettle.   That is where I got the "bulged" from.   But not when it has stove pit bottom.   Make sense?   ;D

Hope this helps.

It's a Extra Large Eccentric Pot, Style B. It is shown in the BB on page 248.

From looking at the pictures I can't tell what it is, whether is concentric or eccentric. Its one or the other. Either way its a very neat old piece and it sure is worth the money you gave. I like these kinds of things being posted instead of a three dollar piece of junk with a request how to turn it into three hundred dollars so it can be sold on ebay or somebody that don't know better on facebook.

And I'd like to know if the piece sticking down is right in the middle or off to the side. Like I said, I can't tell from the pictures.  :-/

Its a concentric kettle if its right in the middle and an eccentric kettle if its off to the side. I had a number nine eccentric kettle at the WAGS convention in Canton, Ohio. Its a beast and holds 26 quarts. I wonder what size this one is?  :-/

It's either reply 5 or reply 6. I don't know of a way to tell which it is from your picture without measuring its capacity in quarts. Maybe then, but just from your picture I can't tell and I don't know enough about the Wagner pots to say. Will / Mark how do you tell which is which?
Harry

Perry, going from the capacity for the # 9 extra large eccentric pot (BB p 248 bottom of 30qts.) I assume your #9 at 26Q is the New England Style pot (BB p248 top middle)?

If Mathew would tell us if the part that sticks down on the bottom is dead center in the middle or if its off to the side we would know if its an eccentric or concentric kettle.  ;) ;D

And I just learned something. Mine is the number nine eccentric kettle, which the BB says holds 30 quarts. The reason I said mine holds 26 quarts is because I filled it up one time and tried to keep track of them. I must have messed up because mine is definitely a number nine eccentric kettle, and not the smaller one at the top of the page.

If you measure its capacity in quarts I think that will tell you which of the two it is.

Here is my number nine eccentric Wagner. Its sitting beside a Griswold number 13 dutch oven. You can see how big it is.
