Unmarked #8 Waffle Iron on High Base
« on: February 22, 2014, 10:20:39 PM »
Picked up an unmarked #8 waffle iron today.  It came with a high base. Other then the 8 inside a circle, the only other identifying mark is a raised F on the handle. Doesn't' seem like it's in too bad a shape. I think i can clean it up nicely.  Anyone know who made it or what it's worth?

Looks an awful lot like an unmarked Griswold made for another company.

Miguel, your waffle iron is an unmarked Lodge.  I'm not sure on the value.  Mike

Thanks Mike.  I picked it up in an antique store for $35.  Seemed like a good buy considering I didn't have to pay shipping or anything on it.  If anything, I'm going to clean it up and make some tasty waffles. The high base should work out great on my gas stove.

Any ideas how old it is?

1920s to 1940s ... if it a Lodge like Mike says. (Page 234 in the Red Book)

BTW, good call, Mike.

I think the coil handled Lodge waffle irons were later than the cast handled ones so not sure on the date.  Mikd
