Your First Electrolysis run for 2015
« on: March 21, 2015, 12:41:19 PM »
The garage is finally warming up, so I reached into the lye and these are the first two items I grabbed to put in the electro tank: a Lodge Chili Pepper Pan (6CP2) and a generic 6X cornstick pan.

Hello Russell. I don't understand. Is the picture here after the electro or before the electro? The reason I ask is because they great right now. So why would you want to electro these two pieces. I used to do a lot of electro. I still do every now and then when it suites me. And I try to keep my pieces in lye water until I can get to them or when I want to get to them. When you soak your pieces in lye first, you can cut out the need for electro by a whole bunch. But most folks when they first set up an electro they use it a whole bunch. I think I electroed everything but the neighbors can and I didn't do him because he got away before I could get the clamp on his tail.

Perry, these pieces have both been seasoned prior to the photo. Sometimes my words fall behind what saying. I'm just asking people to post the first item they zapped this year in any state. Both pans had some rust originally. The Lodge pan had never been properly seasoned, but there were some remnants of cornbread still in it.

I set up an LB and electro in the basement and have been zapping pieces all along. Rather than show the first item I out of the electo this year, I'd like to show the most recent.

It's a Lodge 1-notch hammered skillet size 5.

One of the first electro this year. The Harker W.I. Handles are being refinished, then I will put them back on.

Not only is this the first electro of the season, but my first ever electro ever and first lye bath ever. I must admit this is a lot better than EasyOff and trash bags I used before.

 Before cleaning.
