Interesting find (to me)...

Howdy y'all. I came across this weird little piece and was wondering if anybody may have any information on it. It appears to be a small double boiler of sorts. It's roughly 3 inches high by 2 inches wide. It has some  indecipherable (to me) Asian markings on it. It also has a small marking on the side.
Any ideas?

What you have there appears to be an industrial 'glue' pot.

Hide glue Pot sometimes spelled hyde glue pot, used by woodworkers to keep their glue the right temperature, Used in industrial applications but also used by home shop workers.
