Help ID a BSR Lid??
« on: December 08, 2018, 08:47:33 PM »
Hi everyone.

I bought this at a fea-market a few weeks ago.
It looks like a BSR Red Mountain but it does not have a lip under the rim.

Anyone know what this is for?
Any info would be helpful.

Charles, it sure looks like a BSR kid to me, but I’ve never seen one without a lip. I’m interested to hear what the experts in here say about it.

Thanks for the reply.

Someone has a lid marked 8EB like mine except theirs has the ridge on it.

I guess it is possible but I did not think there would be two molds with the same markings.

Seems like the molder temporarily modified the mold to remove the ridge.

Without the ridge, it does sit on a Lodge #8 also so guess it has multi uses.

Looks BSR, but no idea why the ridge was removed.
