Rookie mistake on my part....

Picked up a large block Griswold #8 DO that had a lid on it that I liked.  Looked terracotta style to me.  Turns out the lid is a unmarked Wagner Ware 1268

...is someone missing a lid out there?  :)

I don't think anyone would mind on a user piece, as long as it functions properly. The problem I have is when people try to sell a marriage of pieces as an original set.
I have seen plenty of Lodge lids on Wagner cast iron.

Many spiders out there are marriages, which is ok as foundries did make lids just to replace any that were broken. As long as people are upfront about it, no problem.
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

Definitely not a Wagner... do you have a picture of the top of the lid?
