Any idea what this is?

I searched plett on ebay, and this showed up. 7 1/2 in. square, so it's pretty small.

It seems way too small to be a plett pan.  The openings are 1 5/8" in diameter.  Too small to cook eggs.

Might be a poffertje pan, right diameter but they are usually rounded on the bottom.

Has an industrial look to me - but what for?   I don't know.

Sure wouldn't pay $99 for it.  Maybe $9, but that's iffy too. ;D

I had to  :) at the pofferjes comment.

My wife brought some of the sweet aebleskiver into work on Monday (see thread in Cooking).  Someone saw her heating them and asked if they were pofferjes.

Our next-door neighbor is Dutch.  I showed him the aebleskiver pan years ago.  He said, "that's not an aebleskiver pan.  That's a pofferjes pan."

I also showed him a plett pan.  Again, "that's not a plett pan.  That's a (whatever Dutch call them)."  ;D

Agree with Tom. 

Looks industrial to me, too... certainly wouldn't want to eat food cooked in it.

Since it's so small, I wonder if it's for casting gold or silver blanks for coins.
