Well, I don't normally take dirty iron out on a date, but I'd say somewhere in the 30's to 40's range. The Red book states that the raised 8 on the handle was dropped by 1950, so that would put this one pre-1950. Making it through 2 world wars without being recycled is why I'd vote for a later production date instead.
