Corn stick pan finds
« on: June 08, 2016, 02:56:38 PM »
I found yet another corn stick pan at goodwill today.  I am guessing Wagner, but please school me if I'm wrong.  It is a 7 stick pan, sticks alternate directions,  second stick up ot says " Made in USA" , On the bottom handle, it is stamped with a "V"  handles are rounded.

It's upside down so the V and made in usa are at the top in this pic.   Those are the only markings I can see so far.

And four dollars for it. That's plenty cheap for sure. A nice find Tommy.  :)

I am loving these little guys.  Especially since I am getting them figured out.   The last couple batches have popped right out with no mess.   I may try the homemade corn dogs again tonight.  :)

Hello Tommy. The corn stick pan looks great. You did a very good job seasoning it. Congratulations.  :)

Haven't picked up any corn stick pans yet, but was wondering, if you took two pans and put one on top of the other, would the batter rise inside and make a complete "cob of cornbread"?
I am thinking kind of like the cake batter rising in a lamb/bunny/Santa mold.

The corn bread doesn't really raise much.  If you used cake, you might be able to, however, by flipping the pan over, the cobs would be opposite.  They wouldn't liNE up correctly I don't think.  I'll have to look tonight though.

Look at the last set of pictures you posted.  They line up perfectly.

Maybe add a little baking powder to the cornbread batter to get a little rise.  I see possibilities.
