Well it seems I may have an asnswer by another post recently on the forum. Any way of dating this piece?

Appears by comparison to be another unmarked Wagner deep skillet.

Wagner Deep skillets/Chicken fryers can be very complex to unravel...

The previous Wagner deep did not show complete enough information in the pictures to define with clarity.

Looking at yours, I would say that because it has a helper tab, it is likely the bottom to a Double Skillet Set, circa 1940's.  So 1/2 of the set.

And the skillet lid is the only piece that had markings on the edge, otherwise totally unmarked piece produced for third party vendors.  :) :)

Cheryl, thank you for the information. I guess I will need to keep my eyes open for another half. Found this in Lake Placid fla at a thrift shop, $20. What identifying marks would I be looking for with the top half?

The Redbook shows, what I believe is this skillet, on P.29.

The bottom dimension should be 11"dia. and 3" deep.

The top skillet, 1 3/4" deep.  Number around outer rim 97022 1554360.

As always, I encourage all to invest in the Blue and Red Books, as they provide a wonderful base level of knowledge for all.

Mine are getting so worn out, that I need to buy a new set of them! :) :)

Thanks for the welcome sir! Have to quite putting all the pennies into the hobbies so I can get some of the ID books. Most of my other hobbies are self explanatory on type and dates and such.
