You Know You Have Too Much Stuff When .....
« on: January 17, 2016, 08:28:24 AM »
You are looking at pictures on your computer and find something really striking, then remember you own it.  This is happening more often than not lately.

Ran across this Trolla krumkake iron picture.  I've never tried it out, but really need to.  It's a Norwegian iron from the late 1920s or 30s.

Amazing
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

oh, Tom, that is hysterical.   I remember what I have, just not where they are stored.  I was freaking out when I sold a gem on ebay and could not locate it.   finally my husband says,  hey didn't you clean out all your computer parts out of such and such cabinet and put some iron down there?   glad he was home, cause my blood pressure was getting up there,  thinking I sold something I didn't have. ;D

Here`s one from Sweden  Tom,  thought you`d appreciate it

NAFVEQVARN   skillet

11 x 2.25 inch   heavy

inside doesn`t appear to be machined , just the bottom

I just noticed it has no pour spouts, maybe came with a lid

it had a clean thick seasoning,  using the easy off method as my lye bath is a large ice cube lol

according  to Wiki  this company started way back in 1605,, started making stoves and cookware in early 1800s  and discontinued pouring cast iron in 1964

I like it

Nice to learn about other foundries in Scandinavia.  Nice pan.  I've noticed that many works did machine the bottoms.  Also tended to have nice, thin sides with a heavier bottom.
