Need help ID'ing this flat hinged skillet lid
« on: January 15, 2016, 11:28:41 AM »
I always pick up a lid when I see it--never know what it might be. This one, no marks on it at all, goes to a hinged skillet. Top of handle is rounded like some griswold's I've seen, but no marks on this lid at all. Could be a lodge I guess, but I haven't found a match to it. Vintage would be nice too, as long as I'm asking.

With no markings on it I'm totally clueless.

Have you tried to fit it on any hinged skillets?  Or compared the dimensions to other hinged lids?

I don't have alot of hinged skillets on hand...thought folks might have a clue based on the handle.

Might be a newer Lodge 4 in 1?

Sounds reasonable. I found a picture of a complete 1960's 4in1 and there's no star on the lid--looks just like mine. Thanks!

Yep, did some more research and I'm convinced this is from a number 8 Lodge "Foursome" combo cooker. 3 qt pot, chicken fryer, griddle and deep skillet. 1960's most likely, but I didn't look at 70's stuff to see if they changed. By the 90's, they had the Lodge logo I think.

Frank, I have a hinged skillet and lid very similar to yours.  Is your skillet more shallow than a typical skillet?

Jim, I only have the lid. Now, I either have to find the skillet or find a buyer for the lid. That said, if this is what I think it is, the related skillet should be deeper, not shallower.
