Good evening.  I got a new skillet tonight, but cannot find a label of any kind on it other then the "indentations" on the bottom.  I scoured my Wagner and Griswold books, but came up empty.  Its not very smooth and needs reseasoned, so I don't think its too old, but it isn't stamped "Made in USA" or anywhere else on the  bottom.  Any thoughts and input or a point in the right direction would really be appreciated.

Not sure Heather, but the handle style and thumb rest may be Asian origin.  Almost looks like it would have been a piece touted by one of the TV chefs.  Is there anything inscribed on that center disk on the bottom?
The good chefs never burn anything--we call it "culinary brown"!!

Absolutely nothing stamped anywhere, so perplexing.  I have also come to the conclusion that it is probably Asian in origin as well, but cannot find anything on the web to help ID it further.  Since the origin isn't stamped on it, which from what I understand became mandatory sometime in the 1960's, does that mean it predates the '60's?  It is a nice, heavy user pan, just needs stripped and reseasoned.

I suspect much more Modern, and the country of origin would probably been on the labels glued or attached to an item.

There was not a 'rule' that the country of origin had to be "cast" onto/into an item.
