If I read correctly it's  1895 - 1915 piece

An oldie but goody early Wagner. What other information were you looking for, Tuan? Looks like it should clean up nicely and make a good user skillet.  ;)

Thanks Mike and Mark for the replies.  I guess what I really wanted to know, but was afraid to ask specifically in case I jinxed it, is if it's a fake?  After buying a recast gate marked Erie and almost buying a reproduction Griswold, I'm a little jaded and skeptical  :)

Nope, you got the real deal this time..and that pan is very much the same age weight and design as an Erie. Is the cooking surface flat?  :)

Phew!!

The bottom is flat and doesn't wobble.  Are you asking about the flatness of the inside of the pan?  How do I check that?  Pour some water in?

Thanks again.

That would be one way. Yes I meant the cooking surface. Some pans with heat rings don't wobble but can still have an upwards or downwards bow to the cooking surface. That is a good thing to ask about or check when buying an Erie for example. You could also check it with a straight edge that fits inside the skillet or heat ring. I don't mind a *slight* downwards bow, but upwards bow is a pain for frying..you put a little butter or oil in and it runs to the sides instead of staying under your eggs.  ;)

Just checked with the water test.  It is flat.  Not bad for $20 [ch128512]
