I had to got to the car twice.
« on: February 01, 2015, 05:25:23 PM »
Turn out Super Bowl Sunday is a pretty good morning to go out hunting.  I only went to the car twice, but that backpack was heavy.
Best Regards,
Neal

So which piece is it that says you should always check the back row, no matter how far it is from the gate.

Hint:  Both the ERIE 9 griddle no PN are the ERIE 8 Dutch oven pot are nice, but they are not the one teaching today.
Best Regards,
Neal

Indeed, several nice pieces, something I didn't have (Lodge 4n1), somethings I needed - a sibling for one of my orphans (ERIE 8 DO cover is no longer alone); Lodge "duck" sportsman's oval roaster to go with the Lodge "duck" sportsman's grill previously acquired, and the one I just like - ERIE griddle nice surface with no PN.

But which one is the found treasure?

Neal

I don't see a pattern number on the ERIE griddle, that looks like a keeper.

Just guessing, but is it the #6 single-notch marked Lodge with the raised six on the handle?  I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Or is it the w/i?  It appears to be small, like a #6 maybe?

Congratulations Neal. Nice finds. I'm with Sandy, is that a p/n 967, #6 W.I.? Looks like it's sure small compared to the other pieces.

Ding Ding Ding!  That's the one.  My first no. 6.  It is a 967/971 with 970 base, ball hinge with Alaska handles.

Neal

Well Jim, looks like we're both winners.  Wonder which one of us gets the #6 w/i? ;) :D

We all know better than that!  I threw out a SWAG... you nailed the p/n.

Neal, send Jim the w/i... I'll settle for the cute little Lodge skillet. ;)

Just goes to show you, you never know what will be found. I have 25 different # 6"s, and that isn't one of them. :) Nice!

I noticed that the Blue nor Red Book seems to show this waffle iron.  The closest seems to be BB pg 88, but that one has wood handles and acorn hinge.

I have heard there were over 400 variations of Griswold wafer irons.

In the # 6's only, for Griswold (and Selden Griswold), I have seen 7 variations (or 8). Wouldn't surprise me that total could be that many, (but not for the #6). That one is a keeper for sure. The 25 I mentioned is by 21 different foundries. I only have 3 # 6 Gris. (one Selden & Gris.).
