Almost a shipping disaster
« on: January 29, 2015, 11:45:02 PM »
Came home to this box waiting for me.
The handle of my first size 14 block logo skillet was sticking out of the side of the box.
I was lucky to get this.
I even talked to the auction house about securely wrapping this so it would be safe.
Instead they filled the box half with paper, then tossed the pan in and filled the rest of the box with paper.

Hello Mitch. Yes I'd say you were lucky. That big skillet rollin around in the box may as well have been a bowling ball. I always send nice instructions to folks about how to pack my items. And if they don't reply that they understand then I don't pay them till they do reply that they understand.

Un-freakin-believable Mitch. I hope you're going to let them know about this..I sure would. Probably nothing, but what is that fine line I see between IRON and SKILLET?

I just got a 14 in the mail a couple weeks ago. Same thing happened in spite of it being packed a lot better. The handle poked out and was broken off. But I suppose the USPS employee that broke it thought they were doing the right thing when they stuck the broken off piece back in the box.    >:(

Nope. Seller said he would insure but didn't. I called the PO and was told without insurance that I was out of luck.

I bought it to give someone for camping so I'll just have it repaired and give it to them anyway. The intended recipient isn't a CI buff, just a damn good camp cook.    :)
