Who made a one notch skillet
« on: January 05, 2015, 07:22:18 AM »
Of course I am aware that Lodge made the one notch skillet before they went to the three notch. I also know that Martin made a three notch skillet. I would like to know whether any other foundry also made a one notch. If so who and when. Thanks in advance.

From what I've read here, Martin 3-notches were reportedly made by Lodge through a contract which Martin tried to wiggle out of causing Lodge to take them to court.
As for other 1-notch skillets, I have seen 1, 3 and 4-notch skillets with "Japan" or "Taiwan" inscribed on the bottoms. They crop up on ebay from time to time.

If I recall, I've seen a few skillets with one and three notches that were marked as being Korean ... as well as some like Russell mentions.
