OK, by popular demand (or at least Cheryl's :), here are "before" photos of the W.C. Davis single spout I found Saturday. Paid a whole $3 for it.

I am notoriously cheap. He wanted $6...

Got it in the lye now, had to make room. I finally got started again, have about 30 pieces ready to seaon, including that old Erie griddle I found a few months back. I like the old stuff best. Got a number 7 bottom gate griddle, no name, with a fancy handle that I like better than the Erie, even if the Erie is worth more. But total knee replacement coming in 2 weeks, so gonna have to shut it all down again for awhile. Hope to have the Davis done before then so I can post some follow-up pics.

Hello Frank. It sounds like you have some nice old pieces. I have the three different size muffin pans by W.C. Davis. And good luck to you on the knee replacement. Some members right here have had that done and are doing remarkably well.

Frank,
I have the same skillet and love mine too. (didn't pay but 5 for mine).... my casting by the gate mark is very crude and there is a small pin hole all the way thru the skillet.... cant wait to see what urs looks like all cleaned up for comparison.

Very nice find!  I had one years ago, but gave it to my neigbor in a trade for some fishing gear. Dumb me.

Sure, no problem. Of course, there may be a slight transaction fee.....

I get that :) There was a time, 15 tournament years and about 100 rods ago, that I would have done the same!

Frank it sounds like you are one hell of a fisherman. I NEVER heard of a man wearing out a fishing. Now breaking it or losing it yes, but wearing it out no.

Whenever I find a W.C. Davis skillet like that, and the one here is marked good by the way, they tell me that the asking price is two hundred but because they like me they will come down to one hundred and fifty dollars.  :o

Seasoned over a pin hole by cooking a hamburger at relatively high heat. Lasted a while, but eventually got washed away by someone else.
