It's official. They have produce the weird shaped skillets and sent them out. Even has a YouTube video. I still don't see any advantage to the shape or handle. As he's pouring the sauce out in the video, it looks like it wants to pour out of at least three "spouts" and not one like he's touting. Here's the link.

It is odd shaped, but if the price ever drops to a reasonable (to me) amount, I'll get one just to hang up.

For a 195.00 I would rather buy a griswold # 12

Me too. That looks like a whole lotta money for a whole lotta nuthin. I don't see that skillet being able to do anything better than a ten dollar yard sale Wagner can't do just as good if not better.  ;)

He has got the right idea on turning the cooking surface of the skillet. The same way they used to do it OVER A HUNDRED YEARS AGO. So he ain't got rocket science technology here.  ;D ;D ;D

There is nothing new about grinding the cooking surface, or having an "Alaska" handle. And I understand no one has made an octagonal skillet, it makes no sense. I don't want a pone of cornbread in an octagon shape.  :-/

Okay, I know that I have an odd thought process.  Thinking about this product, I wondered how the amount he is asking for this "innovation" compares in cost to a Griswold, Wagner, etc... back when they were in production.  So on my lunch break I found a website that adjusts for inflation. 
long story short -- In 1920 you would have had to pay about $16.00 for a #12 to equal similar dollars today!

(I plugged in 1920 because there was several years of deflation prior to and through the Great Depression)

I've got to say seeing an Alaskan handle on a skillet makes me wonder why it took so long...

From the old Gris catalogs I've seen...there was no such thing as a 16 dollar skillet in 1920..not even the big #20's  ;)

 I think that was the point Perry....even adjusted for inflation these skillets are way over priced, even compared to Griswold prices...
