griswold odorless skillet

i just found a odorless skillet like the one in the red book page 132. i have a couple of questions, are they really odorless without the lid.how hard is it to come across the cover. by the way what do you think it would be worth?

Hello Greg. That sounds like a nice find. Without the lid it would not be odorless. Even with the lid it would not be odorless unless you were using it on an old cookstove with the open eye where the odors could be sucked down into the firebox and thus up the chimney. Thats the way they worked. The lids are hard to find because they were made of tin and so did not last as the cast iron bottom, but, you can still find them, they are out there. The value of your piece would depend on what the condition is. If you can post a picture that would be very helpful. Hope that helps.  :)

Hi Perry,thanks for the response.I did not know the lid was tin.Isuppose you could use it just like a regular skillet. It sure is different but i like it. Iwill post a picture when i get a chance.
