#30 Turk head pan.

The wife and I saw this pan on Ebay,loved it, and won the auction. Acording to the books this is a variation #3 but it should be marked as a #20 but it is marked as a #30. This is in Canada so is this a Canadian copy of a Griswold? Any ideas?

It could be an older Lodge or a newer copy from overseas.  I've seen these around for years.  An old Lodge catalog shows the No.30 with the raised 30.  Measurements given are  6-7/8  x  10"

It does have a raised 30 on the handle. How old is that Lodge catalog so I can have a guesstamate of age?
How can we tell if this a *GULP* Taiwaneese piece.

I don't know the dates Greg.  What looks like the older catalog with your piece in it may be from the mid 1930's.  What appears to be a later one is Catalog No.9 and does not show your pan.  Both catalogs show the penis pan.  I expect that both are pre WW-II.  Maybe Lodge will know what year Catalog No.9 was issued.  I have Xerox copies that a friend passed along to me after his visit to the Lodge foundry in the mid 1980s.  
If your pan is smaller than the dimensions I gave you it may be from 'over there'.

Thans for the great info, It looks to be a good user even if it was made for rice cakes and not corn bread ;D.
