Vollrath DO
« on: June 26, 2006, 05:54:42 PM »
OK, sent the wrong pix first.
A friend recently cleaned up this Vollrath DO.
Is it unsual for the bail to be connected to opposite sides of the ears?
If this works, will send pix of the bail connection
Thanks, Ellis

It would have to be connected to opposite sides or else there would be an imbalance when you grabbed the bail and the pot wouldn't be level.

That being said, I've never seen ears like this and the whole bail mechanism seems mighty strange.

Balance, how come I passed right over that?

Duh, well I never was the sharpest stick in the stack ;D

My friend is looking for the lid, if anyone has a lead on one,  or one that they are willing to part with, let me know.

Thanks, Ellis

No vollrath DO lids in the last 2 weeks on Ebay.  Hopefully one will turn up in the unlikely event that a WaGS member doesn't have an extra one.  You can save the search above and have it email you when there are new listings.

Ellis, The only Vollrath lids I've ever seen on eBay were for the colony chicken fryer, not for a DO.  That doesn't mean they're not out there though.  BTW, the DO is shown on pg. 244 of the red book.  If I'm reading it correctly, the lid and the oven share the same number.  Sandy

Yair and Sandy,

Thanks for the information, will pass on to my friend.

It is probably quite obvious that I don't do my homework with the resources I have.  Have to make note to self to dig deeper >:(

Thanks again,
EDM

Too funny Ellis. I would think balance would be first and foremost to a Canoe Cop. Or does your canoe have training wheels? ;D

Well, never did need training wheels to catch people who worked for the Navy ;D  They were too loaded down with iron to make their ships with ;)
Cheers
