LB SB EPU Handles.
« on: May 28, 2006, 04:07:48 PM »
Maybe someday I'll know enough to anwser a question instead of asking- but here's another question.
I've been putting together a set of Large Block-Smooth Bottom-EPU. My 3,4, and 5 have a slightly different handle style than the 6-10.  Is there more than one handle version.  The pics in the Blue Book of the #4 is the same as my 3-5.  Yep- no #2 yet :-[.  If anyone has an extra 2 willing to pay postage so I can check it out :). Mike

edit-Obviously there is more than one style, but are both or more styles available in all sizes.

pic of handles.  Pic is of 5 on left and 6 on right.

Mike, I have forgotten many of the details but I know that it's impossible to put together a matching set of any slant or block TM skillets with all the same handles.  Once you get to the small TM pans you can do that but, even there, it may be with the late style handles where they match each other.  I'd say that the block SB skillets have anywhere from 1 to 3 and possibly 4 handle variations in a size and the differernces may not be due to the age of the pan (these pans were made for around 10 years) but due to a pan being cast from one particular pattern out of many for that size.  Close to two dozen different patterns used for the No.8 block TM SB pans.   It would be interesting to see all the variations made and in each size.
