More help with I.D. on broiler and trivet.

Well I picked these up today and have no idea who made them.The broiler is only the bottom :'(.And the trivet is a little unusual around the ears.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks to everyone that has helped in the past. I sure do appreciate it.

Jerry, that's one strange trivet.  Is the patent date 1888?  Not too clear to see.  It may have gone in some kind of safety kettle but I don't know whos.  The broiler may be complete as many or most broilers of that type were of the single broiler style with no cover or top piece.  If it were a double broiler I would think you would see a tab or some protrusion where the two parts fit together or keyed together.

Steve thanks alot i had no idea some broilers were made in 1 piece.Yes the patd date on the trivet is 1888.Neat but i was wondering who made it.

now if i only had the dutch oven to go with it.....
