Martin Stove and Range
« on: February 23, 2006, 08:12:44 PM »
Any Martin experts?  I picked up a #8 Martin double skillet at an estate sale, only Martins there.  The top skillet (no heat ring)is the same as shown in the Red Book, but it came with a #8 skillet with heat ring.  They have the same late (edit-standard logo)logo.  Red Book only shows the double top with a deep skillet and noted no heat ring on either. Could the double skillet top come as an option with any bottom skillet or were these married at sometime?  Mike

I too bought a double skillet set,  the ONLY Martin skillets in the house!!!!   And the bottom skillet has a heat ring.   Top skillet,  no heat ring.   Well,  could it have came with a bottom skillet with a heat ring?????   I am no expert,  or even a novice when it comes to Martin.

Mike, I wish I knew the answer, I have the same double skillet top and it is smooth bottom.  I bought it by itself, but it does fit the #8 deep skillet I have with a heat ring.  The deep skillet had a #8 skillet lid with it.  I would guess that if it came as a set, it would be with a deep skillet like the double skillet sets you see from other foundries.

I would think Jon Haussler might answer your questions about Martin if you could get in touch with him.  [smiley=unsure.gif]
