Heart and Star W/I top?

I know already many of you buy and or sell on ebay. I also look at shopgoodwill.com now and then looking for stamp collections and other postal history. With my wifes new passion for CI I thought I would see what was there. stumbled across this  http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=1632231 thought I would share it with everyone.

Awfully rough casting on both pieces.  The heart/star gem pan has very thick walls.  I'd say Chinese repro on the gem pan, the corn stick pan could be Lodge, but I'd need more photos to tell.

I agree Marty. Elisa: That heart and star is a copy of the Griswold #50 (6 points), the real thing is pictured in "eye candy" along with a #100 (5 points). Both are very smooth castings and fully marked on the back (see picture). These are muffin pans and not waffle iron parts.  The #50 is very rare and easily over $1,000. If we can get more members to contribute to "eye candy" we can use these as examples of the real thing along with our repros/fakes section. C B

The re-pro shown in our re-pro/fakes section have some markings. I don't think the one Elisa gave us a link to, had any markings at least it didn't look like it had any. That means there are TWO fakes on the market. I wish these people could be stopped.

I guess I should restate the "repro" remark.  Since the item is not marked, it was not made to confuse or deceived, just to copy the design.  The one on the REPRO page is marked and was made to deceive.

What I have is an unmarked knock off.  I bought it to use as a mold.  Price was good at $5.

Here is my knock off in aluminum.   Have it hanging on the wall and didn't even realize I still have the price tag on.  A whopping $1.50 ;D
