Cast Iron Stove
« on: August 25, 2015, 02:05:31 PM »
Hi folks.  I've been hanging onto an old cast iron stove that my mother acquired when I was around 9 (i'm nearly 72 now).  It's getting in the way and I wanted to offer it for sale but I can't find anything about it's value online.  It's a Baldwin King stove, 4 plate with a water jacketed oven area.  Marks on the inside and surface only show 8-20.  I have a few pictures if you will permit:
If needed, I also have a photo of the inside front door that has the 8-20 mark and a symbol I can't identify.

Based on the number of replies, this thing is either priceless or just a rusty boat anchor.  Here's another view.
Again, the only markings on it are the "Baldwin King" on the front and 8-20 on the top and inside the vent door on the front.

I have no idea as to value. Not many off brand stove people on this site.

Hello Ronald. If I was you I would contact the antique stove association. Do a Google search and you will find the people you need to talk to about the value of your stove. Good luck. It sounds like your stove has a lot of history and I hope it finds a good home.  :)

I think it's cute - nice small size for a cabin/cottage. At first glance it could be a laundry stove but looks like a good sized oven. Hard to tell from the photos. Try http://www.gingercreekstoves.com/

Dad used to load it with pine knots and mom would cook biscuits in the oven.  It has a water jacked outer hull and it would get steaming and the stove would rattle and jump around. :D
