Questions about a Findlay No.8, Carleton Place, Ont

I'm kinda new to the cast iron hobby.  A DO that came from my grandfathers estate sparked my interest. 

I've picked up a few pieces in the last few weeks and have questions about this one.  It's a Findlay No.8 skillet (obviously).  I can't find much info on it.  Is it rare? Valuable?  It seems to be in pretty good condition.  It has a very slight wobble (maybe 1/16" or less of movement).  The cooking surface is flat but still kind if coarse in my opinion. 

I've kinda taken a liking to the Griswold large logo pieces so this one doesn't really fit in.  I had a Wagner Ware that I reseasoned but gave it to my stepfather for part of his Christmas. 

Waiting to hear some of y'all's opinions.

Chris, hopefully one of our Canadian iron experts will stop by... if they aren't away for the Holidays........ :)

cause that Findlay is Canadian made...

And that's about all I know about Canadian Iron... the names! ;D

I don't know much about Findlay in rarety or value, but they made some good usable cast. Picked up a Findlay bacon and egger this weekend that's in beautiful shape but can't find a skillet around here, only one i've seen is broken and welded. Have a number 10 dutch oven, thick and heavy and it's my primary dutch for cooking.

I don't know anyone who is an expert on Canadian skillet's.  To determine the  value, would depend on supply, demand, quality and how many were produced. I feel that the demand in the USA will be low on your skillet, because of lack or knowledge of Canadian skillets, but is growing  because of older skillets high quality. 
I have  no. 3 and 9 Findlay skillets. Your skillet looks to be in excellent condition. Guessing I'd say it should be worth  $25. to $35.

  I own quite a few Canadian skillets, because that is where I live, and like James, I don't know of any experts in Canadian cast iron. Very little is known, compared to Griswold or Wagner.
  There does not seem to be as much interest in the Canadian iron, even here in Canada. I think any good skillet that can be used, and has some sort of interesting markings should be worth the $25-$35 James mentioned.

Interestingly, there is nothing that I can find that shows any hollow ware up to and including 1923 made by findlay bros. Even more interesting, it looks like they assumed the line of Favorite stoves from james smart in 1911 or earlier.
