The patent, 366,960, illustrates how it was to be used and shows the tin lid for it.

Thanks Tom, I was unaware of that St. Louis patent for a cover. This was one of the more laborious seasoning deals (Q-Tips!) and it'd likewise would've been a job keeping it clean between usage.

Thanks Jim, Sandy and Spurgeon. It's just the result of employing proven WAGS methods, hopefully I'm still learning!
